If and match functions combined

Hello,

I learnt that a match-function only return the cellnumber where it is.

But what is actually happening if you combine it with a if-function?

like this one: =If(Match([Serialnumber-Prefixes],'BM','BF'), 'Homebuild')

As long as the match-function in the column [Serialnumber-Prefixes] find a prefix with BM or BF it will give you a TRUE value, hence its then " Homebuild"? #
