Hi all,

I have an issue when coloring line geometries in a Qlik Sense Map. When I zoom out, if the lines are very close to each other, I can only see one of them.

Is there a way to introduce some kind of offset?

Can I at least somehow prioritize what is seen? (I don't want to miss segments colored in red when zoomed out).

Thanks,

Juan

This happens because geometries are down on top of each other.

If the lines belong to the same layer, set the draw order, by defining a sorting, ie, so if you want red lines to be shown on top, set the red lines should come last.

Thanks,

Patric

Hi @Patric_Nordstrom ,

The geometries aren't actually one on top of the other, but it's true that when zooming out it looks like (they are different lanes of a same road).

Defining the sorting is working for me for now: at least by making sure I don't hide the red lines that are the most relevant for the users.

However, if there's any other idea to be able to dislplay lines that are very close even when zoomed out, I'd be interested in hearing it. I wonder how other maps work. This one is able to show the different lanes even from afar:

Thanks!

I don't know about the example you are refering to, but it's common to use special line types for road networks in order to render lanes on roads. Then the lanes is rendered with pixel offset from a baseline, rather than using the geometries for the lanes.

Thanks,

Patric

Thanks for the follow up, Patric.

As far as I understood, that kind of pixel offset you referred to is something that would have to be done with a GIS tool before configuring the Qlik Sense Line Layer Location. Is that right?
