Using custom colours in network chart

Hi,

I'm trying to use custom colours in the standard network chart extension.

According to the documentation, section Sorting, one can "change the color using an expression in the Expression editor". However there is no example and it's completely unclear to me how to do it.

Any idea how this works?

You can vote on this idea, it's a little fuzzy but basically the idea is ot have persistng color and color by master item :
