hi, I have some charts in the Qliksense interface and some date fileds that I have to use in the selections pane.

Is there a way to lock some charts so the some of the filters won't be applied to those charts?

ex: I want date filters to be applied only to barcharts and the data in my pie charts remains the same(filters won't be applied for those)

thank you.

Hello,

I believe what you are looking for is the use of alternate states [1]. Essentially you can specify alternate state to different charts and when you apply selections on those charts, only the charts that share the same alternate state will be affected.

Here is an example:

1. Load some data and create 2 Table charts:

If you apply the selections here, then both of the table will be affected.

2. Create 2 different alternate states:

3. Go to each Table chart and apply the State A for the first chart and State B for the second chart:

In the section: Appearance > Alternate states > State.

4. Now if you make a selection on Table chart 1, it won't affect the other Table chart:

I hope that this information was helpful. In case I have misunderstood the use case scenario, please elaborate in details by providing additional information. However, if it has helped you resolve the issue, please mark it as accepted solution to give further visibility to other community members.

---

[1] https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/February2022/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/Visualizations/alternate-states-comparative-analysis.htm
