Qlik Sense data load not recognizing random values for a primary key that do exist

I have several datasets I am joining in data load through a concatenated key

text(trim(purgechar([LOAN_NUMBER] , ' '))) &'|'& text(trim(purgechar([NOTE_DEAL_ID], ' '))) as [Master Key]

This key works for all datasets, however it is not joining on all values as expected in my most recent set coming from excel. fiel via S3 bucket.

If you look at the screenshot it should be populated for both Master Key Columns (it is a left join)

and if you look at the second screen shot you will see it in the dataset that is left joined.

I am not sure how this is possible please advise.
