Why after creating a variable it doesnt work in Set Analysis, but the same value of that variable works?

Hey Guys,

I am having an issue with a variable that i created (MinDate2b) . When i try to use the variable in Set Analysis it fails to work. However when i actually put in the value of that variable it seems to work. Any help or suggestions ?

May be try this

Sum({<[Sales Date] = {$(=MinDate2b)}>} Sales)

or this

Sum({<[Sales Date] = {$(=$(MinDate2b))}>} Sales)
