Direct query using Postgress SQL as a connector

hi everyone,

i'm considering alternatives to extracting the entirety of one of our client's dataset from qvds as it has some extensive repercussions on memory and storage (their apps reached about 3 gb which multiplies to about 25 gb in memory while in use)

one of the methods i'm considering is direct query, limiting the apps to show mostly aggregated information and the more detailed information on a table showing the direct query fields while limiting the display to about 5 k rows via the calculation condition in the add on property.

I've seen contradicting articles, some saying direct query is limited to qlik sense saas and to snowflake and databrikes while others saying that it can be applied to ole-db or odbc connectors.

I've actually tried the method mentioned here

when i used it on a test app it worked but it was limited to just 1000 rows from the direct query, so the first question i'm raising is why 1000? where can i change this property?

when i tried to used it as a replacement for the elements the currently reside in the apps we currently use i got the following error message even though i was selected on only 9 rows
