Show hide not working with Variance Waterfall within Layout container

When I embed 2 Variance Waterfall charts into a Layout container, and based on getselectcount(group)=0 to determine which chart to show. When I click on a group, it was selected briefly and then got unselected.

When I embed the same 2 charts into a normal container, the behaviour is when a group is clicked, it will automatically hide the existing chart and show the other chart instead. This behaviour is the same with the following scenarios:

Bar chart within Layout Container

Word Cloud within Layout Container

Radar chart within Layout Container

Grid chart within Layout Container

It seems to be working the same except Variance Waterfall within Layout Container. Attached is the mock up qvf file
