Connector error: The computed authentication tag did not match the input authentication tag. (DirectAccess-4021)

Hi all,

recently Qlik data gateway (ver. 1.6.2) starts return the following error:

Connector error: The computed authentication tag did not match the input authentication tag. (DirectAccess-4021)

and Im not able to find information on this specific issue.

We know that 1.6.2 is not the latest version and we already planned the gateway update at the end of May.

Are there someone that faced the same error and find a fix\workaround?

Could be the issue connected with the Data Gateway version?

Hi @Alberto-SDH

Definitely the fist step to upgrade to the most recent version.

Other things to look at perhaps any patters ?

Dos it occur all the time or only during specific periods of times ?

Does it happen for multiple apps or only one app?

Is it specific to apps that use specific data source ?

Do apps fail in specific section of the script or is also random?

we are seeing this error this week as well. we are on the highest current version of data gateway. so far we have not found the cause

Hi Guys,

same issue.

Data has not been loaded. Please correct the error and try loading again.
The following error occurred:

 (Connector error: The computed authentication tag did not match the input authentication tag. (DirectAccess-4021))

This error has happened this morning for the first time.
We have re-launched the script 2 hours after and it is finished successfully.

We checked the Data Gateway Direct Access log and we did not see issues.

Data Gateway Direct Access version: 1.6.7

@NadiaB Got the same error today, we are getting this error first time, from source side everything executed successfully.

We are on version 1.6.7

An increase in the frequency of this error last week should now be resolved. If you still see it, please upgrade to the new version 1.6.8 release. It includes a new option for mitigating these type of errors, by storing missing data chunks for future reload. It is a manually enabled configuration described here:

If errors are frequent, we suggest setting RELOAD_CACHE_MEMORY_MB to 100 and observing the result. This requires several GB of free space on the Gateway server's C: drive. We hope this helps!

@Andrew_Roy After configuring 100 RELOAD_CACHE_MEMORY_MB the reload time has significantly increased, e.g. from 20 to 50 minutes per task. I had to restore the previous configuration. Error 4021, QDG-DA 1.7.2

Error occurs in version 1.7.10 also. Has anything really been identified as the root cause?
