Issues with loading Excel

Currently using Qlik Sense 2.2. Loading a simple excel spreadsheet. Currency field is incorrectly identified as a date field. When data is loaded the field contains dates but in Excel the field is actually a dollar amount. Does anyone know why this ""

Most likely a data issue. Which currency/locale you are using? Is your script settings (first page header with date/money formats) matching your Excel file?

And you can always force conversion to numeric (num(field_name) as money_value) in your script.

Thanks so much for your quick response. Finally figured it out. The data set had 3 columns of currency format in excel but QS was seeing it as a cross table and not converting completely. I appreciate all the help.
