Test Failed! with "Oracle Provider for OLE DB"

Hi All,

I am using QlikSense desktop v2.1.1 and I am trying to create a new connection in Data Load Editor. I am doing the following:

Create new connection > OLE DB > Provider as 'Oracle Provider for OLE DB' and then entering the credentials in the following format:

Data source (file path or server name) as <hostname>:1521/<service-name>

Then entering the username and password.

But on testing the connection, I am getting a Test Failed.

On the other hand the same details are working just fine in my Oracle SQL Developer.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi All,

I have got the QlikSense to connect to my oracle database using ODBC. I am able to select and load all the tables.

However, I would still like to know how to get the OLE DB to work?

Please advice.

Ohhh..The OLE DB is also working now.

I did not enter the details in the TNSNAMES.ORA file. My mistake.

I am facing same problem with 12C connection, can you let me know which all details need to be added in tnsnames.ora file?
