topic Qlikview Database connection in Connectivity & Data Prep

Hi all,

We use a global variable file to store our SQL OLE DB connection information. This works well when the app is up and running, but if we need to go in and add/change a table we have to go through the process of creating a connection again in order to select the table we need.

This doesn't sound a major issue but we have complex 16 character passwords to connect to the database, which we are not allowed to store in a text file (so no copy/paste).

Does anybody have any idea how we can trigger that connection when we need to go back into the script to add/change a table?

Many thanks
Mark
