      <title>Error connecting to Amazon Redshift database to Qlik Sense</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am trying to connect a Redshift DB to QlikSense but I am getting the following error:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;ERROR[08S01][Qlik][Amazon Redshift](10) Error occured while trying to connect:[SQLState 08S01] could not connect to server: Connection timed out (0x0000274C/10060) Is the server running on host "XXXX" (XX.XXX.XXX.XXX) and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5439?&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;All of the credentials are correct as I can connect to QA server.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Please refer the below error screenshot.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="Admin3_0-1622983036159.png" style="width: 400px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.qlik.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/56388iDB2EFE6F164997F5/image-size/medium?v=v2&amp;amp;px=400" role="button" title="Admin3_0-1622983036159.png" alt="Admin3_0-1622983036159.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Is the Qlik server on the same VPC as AWS redshift is? If yes please check the network connection.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If the Qlik server is outside from the DB instance then make sure the security group is configured in such a way that it allows connections from external entity.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I know the post is old but I found a solution. AWS Redshift serverless was my environment. Had to open port 5439 on Redshift even though Inbound &amp;amp; Outbound rules were 'accept all'. Still gotta open the port.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
