Qlik Essbase Connector - waiting to connect to Essbase agent

I am trying to connect to Essbase via QlikView. I downloaded and installed a 64-bit connector. After that I see the connector in the list of available connections.

Once I put in the XMLA server address and port number , the Data Source field is automatically filled with two options. Then I enter my user name & password, and hit Test Connection.

But every time i test the new credentials, I get this error that says

'The client timed out waiting to connect to Essbase Agent. Check your network connections, host and port values, and check that Essbase is started.'

My credentials are working correctly when calling as a query in a browser like an api. I have attached a snapshot of the connector steps and the error. Does anyone have an idea of how to solve this?
