We have a 5 node cluster of 2 large engine nodes, 1 central node, and 2 medium engine nodes.

We would like to isolate the large applications on only run on the large nodes, and a set of 10 small apps run on the medium nodes.

What is the best method to accomplish this? I am assuming we should be looking at the 'tag' property or user a custom property.

I have been reading many threads on here that deal with the load balancing rules, but don't see where apps can be assigned to a given set of engine servers.

Thanks for any suggestions.

With the help of load balancing rule only you can define what all apps should hit which engine. As an example all unpublished apps should hit engine 1 and all apps in stream A should hit engine 2 and so on.
