Hey Guys,

is there a possibility to enrole Users to open an App via a Sharing Link (Qlik Button)?

The Situation:

Lets say we have a Stream with just one App in it. The security rules are only on the Stream Level, so that User A can see the Stream and access the App. User B can't see the Stream and therefore can't Access the App. We have no Security Rules on the App Level and no SectionAccess.

Now User A wants to Share a specific view/sheet of this App with User B. He clicks on the Share Button and sends the link to User B.

Usually User B still can't Access the App, because auf the Security Rules on the Stream-Level.

Is there a clever Solution to enrole User B to the App/Sheet, without manual administrative changes, so that as soon as User B clicks on the Link he gets Access to this specific App/Sheet?

Spoiler:

We tried to enrole User B on App-Level, no matter what the Stream-Level claims. This works and User B can't see the App, because he doesn't see the stream, but he still can access the App via global search in the HUB, so we can't use this one.

Thank you for advice in advance!

Not in any secure way, no. I didn't know about the global search bit but even if that didn't work that means any user who can authenticate and either has or could have a license would be able to access that app, which seems like a recipe for a security nightmare.

Hey Levi,

thanks for your quick response!

These were also my concerns. Do you have any good solution how to fulfill the requirement?

In principle the customer "just" wants a flexible access to specific apps, with minimum administrative expenditure. Furthermore we can't define yet which user(-group) should see which apps in the process.

Are there any best practices/concepts?
