Good afternoon Vaisgaard,

on which release of QS are you?
It has been quite some time that, from QMC, it is possible to export apps without data (when you hit the Export button, a popup asking 'Export with data' is shown).
You could also automate the process using APIs and, for example, Qlik-Cli

But that is a partial backup, because it is missing all user content (so sheets, stories, ... created on a published app), which are not exported doing an export from QMC.
I do not know of any tool that saves without data the apps and then exports also the customer content.

In case you do not worry about backup size, you could use QlikSenseUtil (which by default you can find in C:\Program Files\Qlik\Sense\Repository\Util\QlikSenseUtil\).

You can find more on QlikSenseUtil and, generally speaking, Qlik Sense backups here: https://adminplaybook.qlik-poc.com/docs/backup_and_archiving/verify_backup_execution.html

I hope this helps
Cheers,
Riccardo

Backup of apps

Hi,

Before installing a new update of Qlik Sense I do a backup of my apps. This is done by opening every app without data, and exporting the .qvf file. So I can import the app, if something goes wrong.

However this takes a long time, as we have more than 70 apps in production.

It is my understanding, that I cannot just do a copy of my apps folder in the Qlik installation. I would not be able to just copy the apps to a new install and that would work.

So my question is: What is the best and easiest way to backup my apps?
