HI

some points to consider :

central node must be able to handle all loading process of al apps , or not be used as a salve for loading process
we usually use the central node only as manager of the cluster so we use fairly small central node
as for different sizes of nodes if you are going to use them then using load balancing rule make sure that each node only serve apps he can handle
we usually do it when there are 1-2 very big apps that we prefer to dedicate a node for them and other nodes serve the smaller apps
if you don't want to play with load balancing rules then you should try to have similar size in your nodes
as qlik uses round robin to distribute the apps

Hola,

On our retail project we want to build a multi-node environment.

Is it recommended to have nodes of different sizes in a cluster?

E.g. I am making this up as a hyptothetical example.

Central node = 16 Cores, 200GB RAM, 500GB drive.

Second node = 16 Cores, 200GB RAM, 500GB drive.

Third node (for reloads) = 32 Cores, 250GB RAM, 1TB drive.

Four node (for user sessions) = 32 Cores, 300GB RAM, 1TB drive.

Is something like this recommended by Qlik? Or is the recommendation to have all the nodes same size?
