The REST API call timed out between services

I'm trying to import apps via QMC and receiving the error message "The REST API call timed out between services."
It doesn't have to do with the app size. It occurs with different size apps.

Does anyone know how to solve this situation?

We are having this same error with one of our qvf files while attempting to import and so far have not found any root cause, any workaround, or any solution. (June 2019 Patch 5)

check the timeout value in your connection. maybe you need to set it higher

Hello,

A workaround that worked for me :

Create dummy empty app
When importing use "Replace existing app"
Choose app to replace : dummy app
Select "Import without data" : it should succeed
[OPTIONAL] Repeat steps 2, 3, 4 but import WITH data this time : it should succeed

I'm also facing this problem. None of the workarounds work! I'm trying to import Sessions Monitor. I've already tried to re-download it, replace a dummy app, nothing works.

This is what is displayed in the System_Engine log:

ExtendedException: Type '500' thrown in file 'c:\jws\engine-common-ws\src\serverplugin\plugins\pluginapisupport\pluginhelpers.cpp' in function 'ServerPlugin::PluginHelpers::ConvertAndThrow' on line '35'. Message: 'Internal Server Error' and additional debug info: 'Received 500 when adding /qrs/app/66c8a69e-f41a-4e77-913e-dd00a302c0ef/bulk'

Can anybody give me a hand?

Is the issue only when importing this single app or with any app?

What user is running the Qlik Sense Repository Service?

This is happening when importing any app.

Qlik Sense Repository Service is running by Local System user.

The Qlik Sense Repository Service (not the Database one) should not run under the Local System user, but under the service account one.

Is this something you could test? and share the outcome with us.

You would like to review this Qlik Sense Service Account requirements and how to... - Qlik Community - 1713073 before attempting it. As always, always take a backup/snapshot in case of a need.

@Albert_Candelario I followed your advice and by utilizing a service account to run Qlik Sense Repository Service, I managed to import the app.
