QRS not starting after QSE installation

Hi Guys, QRS has not started after QSE installation – PostgreSQL issue? I don't know..

Before I give you more hints, two major findings from Log files and Event Manager:

An exception was thrown while invoking the constructor 'Void .ctor()' on type 'DatabaseContext'. ---> Value cannot be null.↵↓Parameter name: entitySet (See inner exception for details.) (See inner exception for details.) - more in attached DOC.

Environment:

Windows Server 2016 Standard
User in Admin group
.NET – 4.5.2
Ports checked
No antivirus
QS April 2020 ( February 2020 checked as well)
I don’t use Centralized Logging

Step by Step:

An installation process went smoothly.
At the end QMC has not started
QRS service has not started as the only one. When started manually it stops after in ~ 30 seconds
Naturally, neither QMC nor HUB doesn’t work
Full repository log attached in DOCX
One more: QlikShare folder do not include subfolders for Apps, content, etc. – as I remember they should be there.

I read other related threads but I have not found anything like this.

Qlik Sense Repository Database should run as Local System.
Qlik Sense Repository Service should run as your named administrator.
Your screenshot shows the opposite user details.

Also make sure that the user running Qlik Sense Repository service has read/write access to the file share, if there are no files generated in your share.

What is your Qlik Sense version ?

And what the Qlik Sense repository logs are saying ?

This where I would start in order to try understand why Qlik repository service is not starting.

My version is November 2021 patch 3.

My logs are saying the same like in the first post in this topic.

I attached my logs (with translation in the comment).

Was it working before or it's a first installation ?

What account is running the Respository Database service ? And what account is running the Repository service ?

Yeah, it was working until restart the server (planned restart).

Repository Database service is running as local system.

Repository service is running as local admin account with administrator rules.

First, I updated Qlik to Version from February 2022 - it didn't solve my problem.

Second, I checked your link and repaired Qlik in that way- it didn't help either.

After theses steps a logs show the same error messages like before.

Hello @piotr-bratek

QSE April 2020 or greater requires .NET 4.8 or greater.

Have you tried to install pgAdmin and check if you can connect to your database?

Also revert the changes you applied to the services.

Qlik Sense Repository Database should run as Local System

Qlik Sense Repository Service should run as Service Account

Also, mark sure you have the service account listed into Local Security Police allowing it to run as a service.

Hello @mateusz2,

Are you trying to use a QSR DB from a previous version of Qlik Sense ?

Because the error you are having seem to tell that there are some missmatch beween your current Qlik Sense version and your QSR database.

I've created a new virtual server and there installed qlik sense. For my case that solved my problem. From time when I've made installation on new machine, problem doesn't occure anymore.
Maybe the cause of my problem was other instance of postgresql (version 10.5) for other software on my main server. Thanks for all tips.
