topic How to disable load balancing for the Central Node in Management & Governance

Hello,

Was referring to this link for setting up rules so that our rim nodes will now be used for load balancing:

Load Balancing Rules: Have only specified streams/... - Qlik Community - 1715610

However, when I attempted to modify the rules for the central node, I saw that Qlik did not allow it to be modified. Is there a way to modify the rules so that no one will be load balanced onto the central node and only the rim nodes when they open an app?

Thanks.

Hello @QlikToFindOut,

The rule named "ResourcesOnCentralNode" is read only.

This default load balancing rule allowing the central node access, cannot be disabled.

The Qlik Sense central node needs to, at all times, have all services installed. This includes the engine service.
If the purpose of load balancing is to direct traffic to only a specific consumer / rim node, the central node needs to be removed from the engine load balancing options in the Virtual Proxy.

Regards,

Benoit
