Thanks Alan for confirming. Like you mentioned there is no clear direction to upgrade Postgres from 9.6 to 12.5 on Linux.

So in that case we download the Postgres 12.5. Stop all Qlik services except the Qlik repository database service, upgrade the Postgres database and restart all the services.

Does this step generally sounds OK?

Thanks

Hello All,

We have upgraded Qliksense enterprise from Nov 2021 to Aug 2022 version.

We have central node and couple of RIM node. Postgres database is on a different dedicated server running 9.6.10.

During the qliksense upgrade, the upgrade wizard did not ask to upgrade Postgres to newer version but the Qliksense upgrade completed successfully and there are no issues accessing hub, running reload tasks etc.,

Is this fine or Postgres must be upgraded?

Thanks

Thank you Alen, the links are helpful

We have Postgres on Linux server. Do you have instruction link to upgrade Postgres on Linux?

Thanks

Yes, that sounds like the best way to go. I would also recommend going to the Postgres community and seeing how they recommend upgrading Postgres on Linux. We only support Windows.

Thanks Alan.

Do you think it is better to upgrade to 12.5 instead of continue using 9.6.

Do you have few compelling reasons for upgrade as I have to convince my Database team here.

I guess #1 would be 9.6 version is out of support from Qlik

Thanks
