Upgrade Qlik Sense Enterprise with POstgres 12

Hi everybody,

I have upgraded with the last release (February 2023, sp4) a qlik sense server previously updated to November 2022.

During the November 2022 upgrade we switched to Postgres 12, so the repository database service was the new one (Postgres 12).

Before upgrading to Feb 2023 I stopped all Qlik Sense services and the Postgres 12 repository db service.

The upgrade failed during the first step (repository db), I suspect that this was due the setup program could not realize what DBMS acted as repository DB.

Does anybody know if i better leave all the services on before upgrading?

Hello Marcello,

1. You should be fine with the services running.

2. Did the install logs capture any errors?

Ok i will try the next time letting services running.

Honestly i did not collect log 'cause we recovered the server from a previous snapshot to let the customer use the system.

Before recovering the server i want in the log folder and i read something about the installer that could not reach/contact or whatever repository DB. This is the reason I've asked if i have to let services running prior upgrade.

Please let me know if someone else faced similar problems trying to upgrade Qlik having Postgres 12 prevously installed.
