Hi,

We are using windows authentication pattern "Forms" & and authentication method "Ticket".

This works good in general. However, randomly (independent on server load) the authentication stop working and no-one cant authenticate, requiring a restart of the proxy service.

The proxy log don't give any more details rather than "user has specified wrong credentials?" which isnt correct.

Any idea on how to understand what can be behind this? Is there some cache function with the Windows authentication pattern?

Hi, I have the same problem since about July 2024.
On a cloud server installation.
Did you solve the problem in the end?
Today I reinstalled the server from scratch, in the same cloud, but after 1 hour the problem came back.
Thanks

Hi @marcoguariento

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, I never figured out the underlying reason for this, about 2 months ago it went away.

My work around was a scheduled Qlik proxy restart a couple of times a day. The downside of this is of course that all users temporarly get logged out.

One interesting finding I did was that when the issue occured, it affect specifically:

Authentication Method: Ticket
Windows authentication pattern: Forms

Meaning, I could have another Virtual Proxy with "Windows authentication pattern: Windows" working at the same time as when the VP set to forms didnt work.

Even if the issue now dont occur I'm looking into moving away from using windows authentication to SAML - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIdMosC1btE

br

Paul
