Presumably, you would want analyzer licenses for each machine in this scenario. But with Enterprise, you could keep using NPrinting to avoid additional license requirements, since it runs with QS Enterprise as well.

Question on QS Licenses

Hi all,
I have a customer that is migrating from QlikView to Qlik Sense in a factory.
In the factory they have machines, and at each machine they have a pc/screen.
Today they're using N-printing to push KPI-tables in an HTML-format to the screen so that they can see "near real time"-values on respective machine - the PC/Screen shows a web-browser.

My take on this is that they won't need N-printing to achieve this with Qlik Sense (it being web-based already).
Technically, each machine's PC/Screen just needs to be logged in to see a simple QS app, which shows the values and updates every 5 minutes.

Question is - how would I handle the licensing in this case? Token-based access? An analyzer license for each machine?

Tips are appreciated.

Cheers

Jörgen

It's also a question about cost. Keeping the N-printing license vs. the 15 analyzer licenses they have anyway.

If they have the licenses anyway, then you shouldn't need to do anything special. Analyzer licenses would be the right type. There is no equivalent to the Document License that you might have used in QV for something like this.

Do keep in mind that you will need a solution to show each machine's data on that machine - you can use Section Access, split apps, or whatever else you prefer.
