topic Upgrading Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows fails in Management & Governance

Hi all,

I wanted to upgrade from Qlik Sense May 2025 Patch 7 to November 2025. During the upgrade process, I received a message saying that there was not enough disk space available. I freed up some space and started the setup again, but then I got the following message:

"It is not possible to upgrade a rim node using Synchronized persistence. Please uninstall the existing version before installing this package."

The problem was that I didn’t know that there was no backup available for this server. So I couldn’t go back to the previous, working state. I then created a snapshot of the now unfortunately already “broken” system.

In the Qlik Community, I found this article:
https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/Upgrading-Qlik-Sense-Enterprise-on-Windows-fails-but-Qlik-Sense/ta-p/1713233
and tried to follow solution #2.

The installation itself completes without issues. However, I can no longer access either the QMC or the Hub. The error message in the Repository log is:

“There is no RSA private key associated with this certificate.”

I have now attempted several times to go back to the broken snapshot, export the certificates again, etc. — all without success.

The crucial question for me now is:
Is it even possible to perform a clean reinstall from this broken state?

Thanks 🙂
