Alexander, I just checked one of our sites, and I can only open QMC from the central node. I get an error when I try to open it on a rim node. When you install a site, I don't think it gives you an option for which servers you can install QMC, I think it just installs it on the central node. I suspect it's a bug but I'm curious to see what support has to say.

Hi Alexander, following up on this. I just did a clean install of Sense 2.1.1 on two servers. A central node with all services and a rim node as a "proxy and engine" node. The proxy and engine rim node installed QMC, I wasn't given an option. When I open QMC on the rim node, it is a fully functional QMC that is synced with the central node metadata. I don't remember it working this way earlier. Maybe they have enabled QMC management from all nodes. It could be useful if the central node goes down I suppose? Did you hear back from Qlik Support on how this is supposed to work?

They need to fix their install package. The current proxy + engine rim node option installs QMC. It appears to work at first, but there is some weird behavior with it.

I have a answer from Qlik Support.

We talked on the phone. As explained, we now have an official answer from R&D. If you install a proxy service on the RIM, then you will have access to the QMC. The connection will not be sent to the local repository, but the proxy will connect to the central node. The URL in the browser, though, will still show the local address.

Hi korsikov,

I have one issue related to the above topic.

I am migrating my Qlik sense (sept 2019) to new servers (Aug 2022 version).

I have resorted the repository db and installed central with sept 2019 and then upgraded to Aug 2022. Everything is working fine, then I installed Rim node and upgraded to Aug 2022. When I open qmc with rim node host name then qmc is showing sept 2019 User interface not an latest version and also in qmc in the place of version details it is showing unidentified unidentified.

When I check control panel it is showing latest version only. Could you please help on this ?
