Qlik Sense (Enterprise) + QV Desktop + QV Server on same machine. Possible?

I have:

- QlikView Desktop

- QlikView Server, and

- Qlik Sense desktop (2.1.1)

on my laptop running Windows 7 (SR1) Professional and 8gb of memory

The above combination runs perfectly.

I now wish to add Qlik Sense (Enterprise) to the same machine.

All attempts to install have ended with an error

QLIK SENSE SETUP 2.1.1.0 - ENVIRONMENT ERROR

An unsupported version of Qlik Sense has been detected. The setup has been interrupted. For more detail see the log file. (see attached)

Is this not a permissible combination? If it is, any suggestions as to what might be causing it?

Hi Alexis,

As far as I know, you cannot have the Qliksense desktop and the Qliksense server on the same machine. Actually the Qlik sense server comes with all the capabilities of the Qlik sense desktop version, in fact with some additional functionalities like the section access... etc.

You can't run Qlik Sense Server and QlikView server on the same machine. Not possible.

But you can run on any other combination just fine.

One thing though: you can install QLik Sense desktop and Qlik Sense server on the same machine... BUT Qlik Sense desktop will not install on windows OS server so this is a not common situation to do this. Maybe on a POC or demo machine that is not a server (like my laptop!) . You CAN install QLikView desktop on a windows server OS.

Hi,

QlikView Server and Qlik Sense server cannot coexist on same machine. It has to be on different machines.
