error uploading extensions to sense server

hello everybody

when i try to upload extensions to my sense server

for some of the extensions i get an error :

"Command=Add extension;Result=500;ResultText=Error: StaticContentWeb

....

Exception of type 'Repository.Communication.StaticContent.StaticContentWebException' was thrown. (HTTP code: 500)"

what is the meaning of this error ?

Hi Liron,

I don't know what the error message means but I had the same error with an extension I downloaded from github.

I found the zip folder contained a file .gitignore and a file README.md. When I removed these files from the archive the extension imported successfully.

It may be worth checking your extensions that failed to see if they contain unexpected files.

it's a known bug in version 2.1 and a fix should be released soon

Refer to Rick's answer. Should be marked as correct.

It is a known issue and I guess will be fixed on upcoming releases as far as remember from another thread.

Finally I imported the extension deleting .qvf from the zip file.

Hi everyone, the problem is not with the version 2.1.1, the problem is with versions smaller then 2.1.1. Because if you can import any extension with every objects with it, it will be a security problem. You can refer to the guide i attached, which i downloaded today. Further to this, I was experiencing the same issues and deleting those 'extra' files works. You should also delete anything like a LICENSE file as I found that some extensions have these and it causes the import to fail.

Is it Vary extension to extension.. i have one extension qWidget for Date Picker.. but it is not exporting...

Hi Abhay,

Yes, it varies from extension to extension, depending what unsupported files the zip contains.

Read the article that kerem cited, but please note the conditions that Stefan mentions are conditions for failure, not for success. To clean up your zip, make sure it does not contain any of the files mentioned.

This sounds like the last issue listed in the following doc:

Qlik Sense Server - Troubleshooting Extension Imports

One issue that cropped up with version 2.1.1 is that when the wbfolder.wbl of the extension being imported doesn't list all of the files Sense will throw an error mentioned.

Instead of deleting the files, you can just add them to the wblfolder.wbl. I created a simple script to remedy the situation if that happens to be the cause:

Use this and fix the extension file before importing it, and it will work in 2.1.1.

i have tried in cmd

npm install ext-check -g

to install Prerequisites

Node.js + NPM installed on your system

but not able to understand is it really installed on my system or not..

after doing so trying ext-check in CMD, getting error the file undefine does not exist

I have the same.

The term 'ext-check' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program.

Where is the problem?
