Cannot uninstall or upgrade Qlik Sense Desktop

I had previously installed Qlik Sense 2.1.1.0, and now I can neither uninstall it nor upgrade to 2.2.4.0.

When I attempt to uninstall in the Windows Program and Features / Uninstall a Program screen, I get a Windows error that Qlik Sense Desktop has stopped working and have to close the uninstall program.

When I run the latest Qlik_Sense_Desktop_setup.exe to try to upgrade, I get an error (see attached logs).

I'm running Windows 8.1, so I just installed the .NET Framework 4.6 and rebooted afterward to see if that would help (it didn't).

I'm stumped.

Hi I am having the same issue since last year which lead to me scrapping the idea of using QS but the need to look into this has risen again.

Were you able to find a resolution to this issue???
