Qlik Sense Repository Service Issue

Dear Team,

Recently I have come across a strange issue while installing the Qlik Sense Server.

I installed the Qlik Sense server and got a warning after installation that "Repository Service" unable to start.

I tried checking the Logs, but it didn't create any log folder.

I tried some of the troubleshooting options which I knew and found that there is some error related to Certificate.

I tried and investigate in mmc, but found that the certificate itself has not been created.

I dont understand what service or security policy is not allowing that.

Can any one guide me how do I resolve this issue.

Any help, suggestions, guidance is appreciated.

Did you tried restarting the server once after installation, sometimes i face the same issue. Server Restart solves it.

We solved the issue. It was the enhanced security rule which was causing the issue.

Hi Kaushik,

Was it the IE enhanced security rule that was causing you the issue?

Have the same problem, and changing that didn't help.

Did you change something else?

What we did is we gave full admin rights to the user and then it worked.

Thanks for letting me know.

Was a different solution for me. Ended up extending the default windows services startup timeout which got them running after a restart:

1. Go to Windows Start menu and click Run...
2. Type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Go to the registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
4. In the right pane, locate the ServicesPipeTimeout entry. Note If the ServicesPipeTimeout entry does not exist, you must create it. To do this, follow these steps:
a. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD 32-bit Value.
b. Type ServicesPipeTimeout, and then press ENTER.
Notice that the value is spelled ServicesPipeTimeout, with services in plural.
5. Right-click ServicesPipeTimeout, and then click Modify.
6. Click Decimal, type 120000, and then click OK. This value represents the time in milliseconds before a service times out.
Note: The default value is 120000 milliseconds (2 minutes). If you are encountering issues, you will need to adjust this to 300000 (5 minutes) or higher in some cases.
7. Restart the computer.

It worked for me using the timemout extension solution.
