What is the implication and cost to upgrade fromSense Server Version 2.2.3+Build:37.release/ms15 to 3.2 SR II

Hello,

We are using 2.2.3+ Build 37 of qlik sence. However a number of features I understand have been added since to meet the shortfall in the development/user interface. Specifically alternative measures and time aware charts not to mention bug fixes and other general enhancements.

Could somebody advise me if it would be wise to upgrade (i.e. without breaking the existing applications) and the process involved locating the right EXE stopping services etc.

Hi Mike

Yes I advise you to upgrade to version 3.0 at least.

The process of upgrading is simple but I recomend that you contact your vendor and let your Qlik support take caro of this for you.

Its wise that you have a backup before doing this(you can export the apps to a folder inthe hard disk)

I would also suggest to check release notes and upgrade to the latest (3.2 SR2) release....

I've experienced serious issues with Qlik Maps object after my 2.2 --> 3.0 upgrade and I was forced to downgrade back to 2.2 for some time...

There was an issue migrating Custom Widgets to the new release (I have to recreate the object in the app after the upgrade).

Most of the bugs I've submitted after that were resolved (latest in 3.2.0 release), so it should be stable enough now...

As always, make sure to do backup of your existing applications before the upgrade...
