Use expression to create custom App name with ODAG API Link

Hi, I'm using the ODAG API to generate new apps and I want to create a custom name for the app that is generated.
I know it has to be defined when creating a new link but this page about the property doesn't say much, and this one about the parameter also doesn't give much information about what can I put in there besides the default "templateAppName", "userDirectory" and "userId".

What I did find was the possibility to use an expression using '$(<expr<)' where <expr< is an expression but even with a simple Count(1) it gives me an error. I tried using single or double quotes but nothing came out of it.

Any help would be appreciated.
