Using values from excel in extension

Hello!

I am building an extension, it's going pretty fast with mocked data in the javascript (jquery)

But I can't find in the documentation a way to use the excel files I imported to qlik sense desktop as source of data for the extension.

I looked in the backendApi, but the methods there failed. (this.backend.doSomething() )

Am I missing something?

Can anyone help me or direct me to where I find an answer?
