topic Alternative Theme Inheritance in Integration, Extension & APIs

I would like to extend the "Sense Horizon" theme rather than the "Sense Classic" theme. Is there a way to modify my theme configuration to do so? It seems strange that the default app theme is Horizon but the default inherit is Classic (AFAIK) and leads to UI inconsistencies when customizing a theme.
