Qlik data transfer uploads files with dollar sign in filename

Hi!

We have excel files that are imported to SaaS via Qlik Data Transfer. Originally I have created and loaded the files to the server/folders. Customer has updated the files but for some reason the files are now imported to SaaS with dollar sign. The folder name is "Excels". Files are uploaded to SaaS with default prefix.

Example:

Original files in space:
Excels_ProductFile.xlsx
Excels_NewNamesFile.xlsx

Space files now:
Excels_ProductFile.xlsx
Excels_NamesFile.xlsx
Excels_~$ProductFile.xlsx
Excels_~$NamesFile.xlsx

New files have the "~$" mark. Is this something to do with the file owner? In my case only the files with "~$" mark includes the updated data.

Any idea what might cause this?

HI @tanelio what is the prefix setting in QDT? There are three options Default, Custom and None.

If you change it to None what happens?

Looks like this could be caused by Microsoft Office functions:

Check for Hidden Items in the folder containing the Excel files and see if these hidden versions exist.

Hi all and thanks for the replies!

We found a way to solve this(kind of). When excel file needs updating/editing - files are copied to other folder location, and after editing - we replace the old file with the new one. At least this was easy way to avoid the dollar-sign problem.
