Q: How about if you load data from QVD on Cloud in app, make transformations and store it again?

A: Data for analysis measures the volume of external data loaded into an app and then data stored on the tenant (QVD). So in this scenario, the app loads 0 external data and so it contributes 0 bytes. The he QVD(s) you create or modify will count as datafiles regardless of how or where you "transform" them.

Keep in mind that Data for Analysis is only counting apps and datafiles in Shared and Managed spaces.

Q: What does the reset of any app takes? So, the app does not gets carried forward for reloads?

A: A Sense app does not count towards Data for Analysis in these circumstances:

App does not load any external data during reload
An app which uses "exit script" at the beginning
App is deleted
App is moved into Personal space

Q: When will the Telemetry app be available?

A: Consumption Report is updated through an automated process each day. You can request to receive the latest version of our tenant's Consumption Report app from the Console > Settings > Distribute report button.

Q: What if you go over the capacity limit?

A: There are overage charges for each feature if you exceed capacity. Maybe reach out to your account manager at Qlik to get some details or check the documentation on Qlik help: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/Admin/subscription-options-qlik-cloud.htm

Q: You mentioned that Personal Space isn't counted towards capacity; what about Shared spaces?

A: Apps and data files stored in Shared and Managed spaces are counted towards Data for Analysis.

Q: How to link IDs to actual users or apps or data files?

A: Current architecture and GDPR regulations limit our ability to present app and datafile names in the app. This is a known limitation (and frustration!) and we are working on improving this situation, given that we know it is not ideal to have to fetch actual app and datafile names via REST calls on a tenant. Or just search by ID in the Console for apps, datafiles. No fun. Sorry it's not there yet, but stay tuned.

Q: In the capacity consumption deployer, in the first output block it says "**Only available to capacity-based tenants with reports of 100MB or less. Larger reports cannot be deployed via Qlik Automate at this time.** - what does this mean?

A: There is a limitation with Qlik Automations on the file size that can be handled in the automation. So, if you have a lot usage on your tenant == lots of usage event data and the Consumption Report.qvf is too big to be handled by the Qlik Automation. It's painful and somewhat embarrassing that we haven't solved this one as the automation is much nicer to use than clicking on the button every day. Hopefully with the next generation solution the overall user experience will be improved significantly.

Q: Why aren't these analyzer apps just built into Qlik Cloud?

A: That would be ideal! We are aware of the limitations and awkwardness of the current design and are working on the next generation of telemetry reporting for customers. I can't share details but we are working to make the actual usage data available directly from the tenant rather than through a Sense app as we do today, which is open more options for how you consume that data. Stay tuned.

Q: How about the data that is being pulled from SQL – every time you load the table via SQL will that count towards capacity?

A: External data loaded into a Sense app is counted towards Data for Analysis. If you are using other Qlik data tools, that data fetched or moved is counted there.

Q: Hey there, I need a clarification: for those tenants that are NOT on Capacity (so old tenants with user based subscriptions), does the app Capacity consumption show any data?

A: We capture usage telemetry for all tenants, however, the capacity Consumption Report is only intended for / available in Capacity-based subscriptions. Feel free to reach out to your account manager at Qlik to see about getting some of this telemetry data for your tenant(s) if you are considering Capacity

Q: Is there an API endpoint to get the peak daily usage for the tenant?

Q: How can we find out in advance what the consumption will be like, when we're already in Qlik Cloud an considering migration to the capacity license model?

A: Work with your account manager at Qlik to get some insights on usage for onprem (and QlikCloud) and as it might translate to Capacity.
