&lt;H4&gt;Description&lt;/H4&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The QlikView Management Service (QMS) sends a check to the QlikView Distribution Service (QDS) every ten seconds to check if QDS is running. If this timeout is exceeded, the QMS&amp;nbsp; logs may contain the below error:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-family: courier new,courier,monospace;"&gt;Error Failed to retrieve QDS info: &lt;STRONG&gt;System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException:&lt;/STRONG&gt; &lt;STRONG&gt;QDS did not respond to request.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;Last exception (for &lt;A href="http://&amp;lt;servername&amp;gt;:4720/QDS/Service):" target="test_blank"&gt;http://&amp;lt;servername&amp;gt;:4720/QDS/Service):&lt;/A&gt; The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after 00:00:10. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase the &lt;STRONG&gt;SendTimeout &lt;/STRONG&gt;value on the Binding. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. &lt;STRONG&gt;QDS did not respond to request.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;H4&gt;Cause&lt;/H4&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN class="wideField"&gt;The QlikView Management Service (QMS) sends a check to QlikView Distributions Service (QDS) every ten seconds to see if QDS is running. In some environments, the timeout setting may need to be increased.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="qlik-migrated-tkb-headings"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;H4&gt;Resolution&lt;/H4&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The &lt;I&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;GetQdsInfoTimeOutInMs&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/I&gt; setting in the &lt;I&gt;%ProgramFiles%\QlikView\Management Service\QVManagementService.exe.config&lt;/I&gt; file governs the timeout value that QMS waits on the response from QDS.&amp;nbsp; &lt;SPAN&gt;In a very busy environment with clustered Distribution Service nodes, this value may need to be increased. Monitor and read the Management Service logs carefully to determine if messages regarding this timeout are occurring often, and if so, increase the value to alleviate most of the log entries.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;This setting is hidden by default, and has a default value of 10000 ms.&lt;/P&gt;
