The user may receive Unknown error when saving app in Hub and notice the following Engine error in Windows event:

AppSerializer: SaveApp_internal caught extended exception -1: Unknown error

It is found that Windows Defender triggers this error. Please check Windows Defender or other security programs and then configure the antivirus exception as follows: Qlik Sense Folder And Files To Exclude From Anti-Virus Scanning

In below patches and more recent versions, we improved the engine behavior. We added a retry mechanism where a locked transaction file would cause Engine to fail when saving the app.
