The idea is to upgrade to a version that has been in the field longer and has received any needed service packs. But there are things to be considered when choosing:&lt;/P&gt;

We highly recommend testing upgrades on a lower DEV or TEST environment before applying to PROD.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Dear All,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I got a question regarding upgrade Qlik Replicate, We are currently in May 2023 version in PROD. If I need to upgrade either May 2025 or Nov24 it is too much of work, I need to upgrade on Nov 2023 then May 2024 and Nov2024. What if I backup the datadirectory and then perform a fresh installation on the system then replace it with data directory(only tasks)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;will it work?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P data-start="178" data-end="248"&gt;The executable program files under the &lt;STRONG&gt;bin&lt;/STRONG&gt; subfolder are upgraded.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P data-start="252" data-end="307"&gt;The embedded &lt;STRONG&gt;SQLite repository files&lt;/STRONG&gt; are also upgraded.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;
&lt;P data-start="309" data-end="446"&gt;If you replace the &lt;STRONG&gt;DATA&lt;/STRONG&gt; folder with a backup from the previous version, it will likely corrupt the upgraded SQLite repository (Step 2).&lt;/P&gt;
