Qlik Sense May 2022: failing to load a field type NCLOB or CLOB when connecting to Oracle DB

The following error or similar could be generated when loading data of type NCLOB or CLOB from an Oracle Data Source.

ERROR [HY000] [Qlik][OracleOCI] (3000) Oracle Caller Interface: ORA-00942:the table or view does not exist

Only fields of data type NCLOB or CLOB are affected.

Environment

Qlik Sense Enterprise May 2022 and other earlier versions.

Resolution

Fix Version

August 2022 Patch 1
May 2022 Patch 7
February 2022 Patch 10
November 2021 Patch 15
and any later releases.

Workaround

A workaround could be a downgrade of Qlik ODBC connector package to the previous working version. Alternatively, you can reach out to Qlik Support in order to get a temporary fixed ODBC connector package version 6.191 (a new official patch will be provided soon).

I had the same issue while upgrading Qlik to May 22 Patch 3.

Resolved with that. Hope Qlik can fix this ASAP.

thank you for the article, very helpful. You can make it perfect by removing following point:
"Note: Contact Qlik Support to request this file (can't be attached to this article)", because Qlik Support will never provide the file, one must find it by themself.

Yes, Qlik Support can provide a previous version QvOdbcConnectorPackage_ver_6-118-2 that worked for most customers running Qlik Sense May 2022 SR4. But we prefer and recommend customer to wait for next release QvOdbcConnectorPackage ver 6.191.

We are recently upgraded to August 2022 Patch 5 and are having this problem. Waiting for another release doesn't work when the jobs are failing. Do you have a direct link where we can download the QvOdbcConnectorPackage ver 6.191?

We are a Qlik Sense Enterprise Windows installation and this is all I can see in the downloads area when I select all patches and releases

I am sorry, QS August 2022 does not have patch5 yet. I think you are talking about May 2022 Patch5
QS August 2022 has until IR (initial release) and patch1 (see below).

So, if you install QS August 2022 patch1, thus you will have QvOdbcConnectorPackage ver 6.191 installed
You can also contact Qlik Support if you need QvOdbcConnectorPackage ver 6.191.

i still have issues with oracle with the qs august 22 patch 2.

no error message but very long loading time (i had to abort the tasks)

i don't think it's related clob fields.

reinstalling the previous odbc connector package still works

Has anyone noticed if this issue also is affecting Oracle SQL queries that are using a function, like substr() ---- or a custom stored function?

there still seems to be something not working in the oracle connector in the nov 2022 patch 2.

all oracle queries that use joins seem to fail (no error messages, they just keep loading). normal/simple queries seem ok.

could you check? thanks
