Qlik NPrinting cannot find a supported template editor with Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

A varation of the following error is shown when calling Qlik NPrinting Designer to edit an Office report:

Cannot find a supported template editor: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

It is possible to click on OK, after which Qlik NPrinting Designer opens, but no editing options are present.

The solution requires changes to registry keys on the machine where the problem occurs. A backup should be taken prior to proceeding.

While logged in with an administrator, open the Windows Registry editor
Open HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and search for the key {0002096B-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
Open the TypeLib subfolder
Take note of the version listed and copy the registry key (see img 01)

Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib in the registry
Search for the key you copied in step 4.
Remove all folders which do not match the version from step 4. (see img 02)

Repeat the previous steps for the keys {9149349D-5A91-11CF-8700-00AA0060263B} and {000208DA-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}.
Restart the machine.
