Hello Todd,

Your datasets are stored under :
C:\Users\iribvs\AppData\Roaming\Talend\dataprep\store\datasets\content\datasets\
Even if their filenames are changed you can still open them in Excel, so you can backup this folder before cleaning up and re-import your datasets later on.

Dataprep only needs basic read/write access, but logs shows I/O errors like "Unable to delete file"

If neither your datasets nor your preparations contains private / confidential data, would you please send me your
C:\Users\iribvs\AppData\Roaming\Talend\dataprep\
folder for further investigation ?

Best regards
Yves

After a reboot all of my preparations have disappeared. When I go to my Preparations page all I see is the message "No results found".

I get the same result in Chrome as well as Internet explorer.

If I go to create a new preparation all the tools are there and I can even export with no problem. But in returning to the my preparations page, it is still empty.

There appears to be no problem with the Datasets page.

Log attached.

I am using the free version of Dataprep.

Thanks

Hello,

Which version of Data Preparation Free Desktop are you using? That is either visible in the footer of the application (for older versions) or in the "About Data Preparation" menu on the top-right (for the latest versions).

Best regards

It seems to be Dataprep 7.0.2 (2.5.1)

Best regards

Yves

Hello,

Your logs shows various problems among which:

Dataprep is unable to access with write rights the directory used to store Dataprep objects

A least a dataset has been updated with a different number of columns (22 columns expected, 20 received)

I would suggest the following actions (Note: this will delete your current preparations/datasets stored in Dataprep😞

Stop Dataprep

Delete your C:\Users\iribvs\AppData\Roaming\Talend\dataprep\ folder

Start Dataprep

Best regards

Yves,

Thanks for the reply. Seems kind of drastic, though. I would lose all of my datasets as well. What permissions does Dataprep need? The local user that I am using has admin rights on the machine, and Full control of the dataprep folders.

Todd
