Hi,

First of all, a warm welcome to the world of Talend 🙂

Talend is growing everyday with new components and features and lets do this learning journey together with other community members.

Coming to your query, you can very well call a Data Preparation from a Talend Studio job. Could you please refer the below scenario for details?

https://help.talend.com/reader/KxVIhxtXBBFymmkkWJ~O4Q/klN~q1U8LRSYoz53XfUVdA

Please note that not all features will be available in open source version of Talend. If you want quicker integration between verious Talend Products at an enterprise level, I would recommend you to do a trial of subscription version of Talend to get more insights (including Talend Cloud). There is a 30 day free trial option available for all users.

Warm Regards,
Nikhil Thampi

Please appreciate our Talend community members by giving Kudos for sharing their time for your query. If your query is answered, please mark the topic as resolved 🙂

Hello All,

Having worked extensively with Informatica, i am now learning Talend(by force not by choice :-)) . In the process of getting acquainted with Talend, i found that Talend has some functionalities spread across modules, Ex. Data masking seems to be done in the Data Preparation module. If i have a requirement where Masking is just a small component of a bigger job, how do i call this Data preparation module from Talend Open Studio.

May be a illogical / layman's question...but that is where i am in with the tool...Please clarify

Hi,

Note that all our masking capabilities are also available directly in Talend Studio. No need to rely on Data Preparation just for a masking step. As a matter of fact, the masking capabilities initially existed in Talend Studio before we made them available in Data Preparation as well. See the following documentation pages: https://help.talend.com/reader/4ACBGWRWFvoDbAZmhmtRFw/h0m2h3s4o~kSkXtH7euUTA

Regards,
