Can Talend be used with Salesforce Professional Edition

When trying to connect my client's org, I'm getting an API error because Professional Edition doesn't have API access. Is there a way to still connect Talend to a Salesforce org with Professional edition, or does Talend require APIs? I know Jitterbit can still work without API access, but I'd prefer to use Talend!

Talend component can work with SalesForce API. Do you want to get or put data from an application into salesforce by using Talend Tool?

I have the same question. We are on Salesforce professional edition. Can talend work with PE? We'd like to both get and push data from and to Salesforce.
