Custom Components Security and its robustness in Enterprise edition

Hi All,

I need help in understanding the how much secure of using the custom components.

Currently we are using few custom components in talend and my superiors raised a concern that how can we trust of using the custom components.

So could you please let me know how much secured of using the custom components in my regular Talend Jobs.

And also anyone please let me know, if you have faced any issue in using the custom components in Enterprise edition.

First, you need to define what you mean by secure in your context?

If you have built the custom component, then you have control over how secure it is. If it is a custom component built by a third party, and even posted on Talend Exchange, then you need to check with the third party. A good way to verify is to check the code being generated by the components.

Plus third party custom components on Talend Exchange are not supported by Talend, since we don't have the source code of these components. It is the ownership of the person who built it.

In any case, you will need to do the due diligence here.
