I do not have a MySQL DB. I assumed (wrongly, I figure) that the Talend demo would come with a sample DB.

Any options ?

Hi, Sabrina.

Since you did not answer, I downloaded my own MySQL and managed to connect to it.

But the demo5mn still does not work. I imported the prerequisite jobs and they fail with the following message:
" [FATAL]: bigdataprojectdemo.customers2dbtable_0_1.Customers2DbTable - tMysqlOutput_1 Communications link failure"
" [FATAL]: bigdataprojectdemo.states2dbtable_0_1.States2DbTable - tMysqlOutput_1 Communications link failure"

which pretty much translates into the same error. See DB connection parameters below.

PLEASE ADVISE.

Host: talend-dbms
Port: 3306
Database: demo5mn
User / Pwd: root / toor
Additional JDBC Paramaters: noDatetimeStringSync=true

Sorry for delay!
There is DB connection issue on your side. Is your DB connection parameter Ok with you?
Please take a look at my screenshot about DB connection in metadata.
