Evaluation Talend Data Integration Open Source

hello,

i am new to talend and want du evaluate the tool.

I need help with some of my questions.

1) How can I create and test a template in the Open Source variant?

2) How can i define a cronjob?

3)What do I have to do to execute a SQL_query on the database (mySQl) and how can I load data from one database to the other?

4) How can I automatically retrieve a file from an FTP server that is stored every night, with varying file names, but including a prefix? (Wildcards?)

I'd appreciate it if someone could help me with a few questions.

Since you are new to Talend, my suggestion will be to first go through the half day training video (which is free) for Talend Studio.

This will give you answer to most of your queries. You can get answer to most of the other queries (like scheduling in crontab) by browsing the subject area in help.talend.com.

After the registration i only can see like 3 different tutorials. Unfortunatelly none of them does help. How can i get access to more Videos?

The various structured training courses are available in the below link.

Your requirements are easily achievable by Talend and there are lot of examples in same context if you do some search in Talend community and the component details is available from help.talend.com

But you will have to learn the Talend Basics and advanced topics either through training or my your own so that you will get a fair amount of idea about each subject area.
