Window Freezes (Talend on Mac)

Hi,

I installed Talend on Macbook . I then created a DBconnection to MYSQL. After I gae the connection parameters and pressed CHeck, the window froze (Couldnt press anything on the window) . Then I had to press ESC to activate the window and then Click Finish.

Same thing happened When I tried to retrieve the Schema. I tried to retrieve two table schemas and after selecting the two tables I pressed Next. Again the Window froze. Then I had to press ESC to activate the window. The Table schemas were retrieved successfuly though.

Wonder why I have to press ESC everytime to make the window Active. Am I missing something. Any pointers appreciated

Hi,
Is there error message in the log message? Which is located in <Talend Studio installation path>/workspace/.metadata/.log.
Could you please have a look at document about TalendHelpCenter:Compatible Platforms and Java environments to see if you are on a compatible platform?

Hi Sabrina,

I installed on OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.3. I see it is not supported. Could you please confirm.

In my experience, Talend is not so great on a Mac.
I believe that there are some issues with the swing library that causes freezing under some scenarios.
I gave up and now run Talend on my Mac inside a Windows VM (VMWare). It works great.

Hi,
In the documentation we provide a list of paltforms that are supported, in the sense that we do provide an SLA and technical support for them. This doesn't mean other (non-listed) paltforms will not work but simply we won't necessarily be equipped to help you with any issue you may face with them.
Does this issue repro on other OS?
