TOS for ESB - Best Practices on Remote Job Execution and Monitoring (for TOS Open Source Version)

Hello Talend Community,

we are currently exploring the capabilities of talend for our integration use cases and i already created the first jobs using TOS for ESB which is working very well!

By now i figured out some of the main differences between the Open Source and Enterprise Offerings - one of which seems to be the Talend Administration Center - which is required to create and manage remote job engines if i am correct.

Since the goal is to stick with the Open Source Offering for now, i am wondering which strategies you are following in running your talend jobs created with the open source versions on a remote server?

The use case at hand is to leverage TOS for ESB to provide a Rest Endpoint via the tRestRequest component and start a TOS job based on this.

Therefore i am looking for a way to host this job on a remote server and also for some best practices on managing / monitoring such jobs.

From your job requirement description, it seems you are looking for talend Service Activity Monitoring(SAM) feature. It is an ESB Runtime Feature which enables to log events sent by SOAP / REST Services

Hello Sabrina,

thanks a lot for the follow up and the clearification on the logging.

For now we are gooing to host the ESB Job as an OSGI Bundle and will keep other topics for further investigations.
